Hello and Welcome

Welcome to the Reach Church website. Formerly known as New Hope Family Church, on March 10th, 2013, the name was officially changed  to Reach Church.

The heartbeat of Reach Church comes from a story told in Matthew 14. In the middle of a storm, Jesus walks across the sea to join his disciples in their boat. As He approaches the boat, Jesus invites Peter to come out and join him, and Peter does. But about mid stride Peter takes his eyes off of Jesus and notices the storm, and becomes afraid. He quickly begins to sink. Peter then cries out to the Lord to save him, here is what happened next:

“Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him….” (vs. 31a)

Like Peter, when we take our eyes off of Jesus and find ourselves drowning in the uncertainties of life, all we need to do is call out to Him and he will reach out his hand and help us. After Jesus caught hold of Peter, He asks this question:

“You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” (vs. 31b)

This is one of the most compassionate questions Jesus could ever ask. He is asking Peter how he could have ever doubted His love for him. This is the same question Jesus has for you and me, “How could you ever doubt my love you?”
